Job Overview The Assistant, Legal position will work on legal and regulatory relations projects for departments within Legal-Mortgage Operations.

A Typical Day * Collaborate with first and second line compliance teams and business units to gather and compile relevant data, records, policies, procedures, and other materials required for regulatory examination and reporting purposes.

* Analyze documents to identify any potential gaps or inconsistencies, and work with relevant stakeholders to address any issues.

* Work on the preparation and coordination of regulatory examinations conducted by external federal and state agencies, ensuring all required documentation is accurate, organized and readily accessible.

* Coordination and scheduling of meetings, interviews, and other interactions between regulatory examiners and appropriate personnel within the organization, ensure appropriate meetings and interviews are scheduled and take place.

* Prepare and file periodic regulatory reports, ensuring all required documentation is accurate, organized and filed in a timely manner.

* Develop and revise defense litigation reporting for various internal business units and external parties.

* Assist with discovery responses on complex defense litigation matters, employment-related arbitrations and class actions.

* Assist with research and review of consumer complaints and responses.

* Assist with securities and corporate law research for two public companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

* Assist with the securities and other public reporting obligations, including public securities offerings.

* Assist with corporate board activities, including board meeting preparation and records.

* Assist with filings associated with corporate governance and executive compensation issues, including stock reports (Forms 3,4, 5), and other SEC related filings.

* Interface with senior management, finance, accounting, tax, human relations and investor relations on securities and corporate matters.

* Assist with intellectual property-related research projects.

* Assist with corporate contracts research.

* Perform other duties as required and assigned.

What You'll Bring * Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.

* Paralegal Certificate desired.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

* Ethical and professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.

* Previous experience with regulatory compliance, financial services, or law firms is a plus.

* User role experience with the Nationwide Multi-state Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) preferred.
