Position Summary: The Commercial Counsel plays a pivotal role in supporting the legal needs of the organization, with a primary focus on reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Commercial Counsel will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders to ensure that the organization's contracts align with legal and business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including provider agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, and other commercial contracts.

* Ensure that contracts comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

* Collaborate with business units to understand contract requirements and provide legal guidance throughout the contracting process.

* Conduct legal research on various healthcare and contractual issues as needed.

* Provide legal support and guidance on contract interpretation, disputes, and resolution.

* Stay abreast of changes in healthcare laws and regulations affecting contracts and provide proactive advice to mitigate legal risks.

* Assist in other legal matters and projects as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer.

Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including experience utilizing contract lifecycle management (CLM) and Office 365 software.

* Strong research skills with the ability to conduct thorough legal research.

* Proficiency in synthesizing legal information and providing practical recommendations to stakeholders.

* Understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, particularly those relevant to managed care organizations in Florida.

Familiarity with HIPAA, ACA, and other healthcare compliance requirements is advantageous.

* Experience in developing and maintaining contract templates, standard operating procedures, and contract management systems.

Ability to efficiently organize and manage a high volume of contracts while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.

Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives while mitigating legal risks.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to identify legal issues, evaluate potential risks, and develop practical solutions to complex legal problems.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proven track record of working efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high standard of work quality.

* Proficiency in negotiation techniques and strategies, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes while maintaining positive relationships with counterparties.

Ability to advocate for the organization's interests while remaining flexible and solution-oriented during negotiations.

* Flexibility to adapt to changing legal and business requirements in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Willingness to learn and stay updated on emerging legal trends and best practices affecting the managed care industry.

* Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive legal matters.

Adherence to professional codes of conduct and integrity in all interactions both within and outside the organization.

Work Schedule: As a continued effort to provide a safe and productive work environment, Community Care Plan is currently following a hybrid work schedule.

Staff are able to work from home 3 days a week and will report to the office 2 days a week.

Qualifications * Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

* Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility for Florida Authorized House Counsel status.

* 3-5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on contract review and negotiation.

* Prior experience in healthcare law or managed care is preferred but not required.

* Strong understanding of contract law principles and ability to identify and mitigate legal risks.

* Excellent negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

* Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to legal issues.
