Job Overview & Responsibilities

Qualified candidate will be responsible for providing enterprise level support in the field of Data Analytics/Data Science and is required to participate in multidiscipline project teams to evaluate customer/operational needs and to develop new and unique solutions to help support decision making across all engineering, manufacturing, launch operations, and business disciplines.

This individual will primarily:

Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide reports, presentations and technical documents as required.

Design, analyze, build, test, evaluate, and implement models from diverse datasets to solve problems throughout the company.

Develop visualizations to describe data sets under investigation and/or modeling results.

Communicate results in clear verbal, reports, or presentation format to engineers, leadership, and other technical/non-technical stakeholders.

Work closely with individuals across the enterprise to develop the appropriate tools and methods needed for the various analyses.

Locate, define, and propose new process improvement opportunities.

Work to grow the data analytics/science discipline throughout the enterprise.

Mentor and coach other team members as they continually improve technical and professional skills.

Have a key role in ensuring continuous improvement of the same tools and processes used to execute their function.

Responsible for identifying and applying appropriate scaling of data science activities corresponding with the specific project needs.

Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.

At least 5-8 years of experience with emphasis in the area of Data Analytics / Data Science.

Technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, data extraction and wrangling techniques.

Strong knowledge of and experience using statistical/analytical packages for analyzing small and big data (Excel, Python, R, @Risk, Minitab, MATLAB, Weibull++11, etc) and leveraging them to impart business insights.

Experience in applying machine learning and/or artificial intelligence to business or engineering applications.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Adept at queries, report writing and presentation of findings.

Ability to operate independently and work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Aerospace Industry with existing and evolving launch systems or satellite systems.

Knowledgeable in the fields of both engineering as well as statistics and data science.

Organization skills necessary to maintain focus and achieve consensus within diverse multi-disciplined teams.

Experience in development of models utilizing Bayesian methodologies to forecast future business operations.

Experience in cloud-based analysis/modeling such as AWS, Azure, GCS, etc.

Basic understanding of launch vehicles.

Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and leadership skills on previous technical projects.

Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $111,700.00 - $174,504.00

Additionally, most salaried ULA team members work a "9/80 schedule," meaning they enjoy every other Friday off.
