SUMMARY OF JOB:
The main duty of a Purchasing Staff is to assist the company in regards to the procurement of materials and equipment needed for production works (FOR DAVAO ASSIGNMENT)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Below are some, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of a Purchasing Staff:
1. Conducts canvassing of materials for all departments
2. Conducts canvassing of materials for the Commercial department for quotation purposes
3. Schedules itinerary for purchased materials for pick-up and delivery
4. Handles sub-contractor’s quotations, follow-ups and canvassing for fabrication for various project
5. Communicates with the supplier for the pricing, terms of payment and warranty for materials purchased
6. Handles purchasing rush materials needed by the production department
7. Prepares purchase orders
8. Checks and prepares all materials for purchase
9. Files copies of materials request for Purchasing department
10. Coordinates with supplier regarding the schedule of materials delivery
11. Handles the canvassing of all production material requisition before purchasing
12. Handles filing and sorting of materials requisition
13. Acts as driver if needed
14. Assists in promoting company’s services to prospects and potential clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. At least high school or senior high school graduate
2. Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
3. Excellent organizational skills
4. Knowledgeable in the use of computer and various applications such as MS Office, etc.
5. Highly motivated to do tasks
6. Proactive in handling situations
7. Resourceful and has keen attention to details
8. Fast learner and can work with minimal or no supervision required
9. Willing to work under pressure
