Salary: $85,000-$95,000
Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We specialize in large, custom, portable pump packages, and our products are renowned for their performance, serviceability, and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers from our global headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and our new manufacturing factory in Houston, Texas.
This job requires a strong ability to work with complex designs and provide technical solutions in a collaborative environment. The role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the manufacturing processes to ensure the highest quality of industrial pump packages.
There are opportunities for short-term employment (6-12 months) and long-term employment.
You will report to the Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities
Configure and develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) for production jobs
Review and verify part routings
Create new part numbers in BOM software
Configure 3D models
Intermediate / advanced bracket and weldment design
Aid in the design of complex, custom pump packages
FEA of individual parts and full assemblies, and provide detailed analysis of results
Root cause analysis of field failures
Create part drawings
Develop hose routing for jobs using 3D model
Review designs for manufacturability and provide feedback
Develop jigs / fixtures for fabrication and assembly
Review BOM structure and provide feedback for improvements
Support production when issues come up and be able to help provide solutions
Provide support in Revision Control and ECN processes
Maintain good working relationships with team members
Complete miscellaneous tasks and projects as directed by manager
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
10+ years experience in designing industrial equipment, or related field
Proficiency in Revision Control and ECNs
Proficiency in creating detailed fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent drawing software)
2+ years experience in creating jigs and fixtures for fabrication and/or assembly
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent 3D software)
Proficiency in MS Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
Proficiency in Inventor Nastran FEA (or equivalent FEA program) for vibration and stress analysis
Strong team player with ability to be hands-on if necessary
FE or PE license preferred
2+ years experience in Project Management
2+ years experience in designing for cast / machine components
Experience with centrifugal pumps or related field preferred
