HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST -FULL TIME, PERMANENT HYBRID/BEDFORD, NS

Health Association Nova Scotia is a not-for-profit, non-government, membership-based association with 60 years experience in delivering shared services for a wide range of health and health-related organizations. Our core services include Group Benefits Solutions, Labour Relations and Compensation Analysis, and Member Partner Engagement, and Financial Services. We are also a joint sponsor of the Nova Scotia Health Employees Pension Plan and provide policy support for our continuing care members.

Position Scope:

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support the people driven business objectives of the organization and its subsidiary, igility. The successful candidate is an experienced HR professional with experience in broad aspects of human resources (organizational design, compensation, recruitment, retention, employee relations, labour relations, training etc). The position will provide support internally to HANS and igility as well as working on projects and other HR focused projects and initiatives dedicated to the interests of our clients. This includes significant human resources related support in a variety of project work both internally and customer facing. An immediate priority is to provide support to the Continuing Care Management Compensation Review Project.

Qualifications:

College or University education in the HR field or relevant education experience.

CHRP Designation considered an asset.

Job evaluation training in Korn Ferrys Hay Evaluations is an asset.

3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in an HR capacity.

Demonstrated broad experience in various HR areas of expertise. Critical Skills Applicant Attributes:

In-depth knowledge and experience in all areas of HR management in progressively responsible positions.

Interest, experience and willingness to continue professional development in the specialized area of employee compensation.

Experience in providing and assessing needs and developing HR plans and strategies to support the business.

Ability to act as a trusted advisor to the organization, leaders and staff.

Experience in developing, leading, and implementing HR plans and strategies including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.

Excellent influencing skills

Act as a change agent - to deliver HR solutions in organizational change

Ability to manage confidential issues, with the highest level of professionalism.

Collaborative style around problem solving.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization (oral and written).

Action oriented individual, who demonstrates high accountability, solid judgement and decision making.

Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
