The Role

The Project Geologist spends time working face to face with our customers to discover challenges and to assist them with solutions that are certain to add value to their business. The role attends to new customers trying out the software at the pre-purchase stage through to experienced users needing technical support, training or project assistance. We want to ensure that our customers feel important and are well supported. By being an investigator and a problem solver, this role is responsible for providing both sales support and technical expertise through integrated solutions awareness, analysis and response times.

A project geologist is building towards advanced level expertise on the workflows facilitated by Leapfrog Works and Central for fast, accurate model building and stakeholder collaboration.

In further contributing to the big picture, this role has will have the opportunity to diversify their skills by providing assistance to the software development teams based in New Zealand. Although based in Vancouver, this role will still be part of the global Technical Services team, who are responsible for ensuring that we understand our global client’s needs and that we cover a wide spread of time zones. Travel and delivery of training might make up 10% of your time per month in Canada, USA, and Mexico.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Sharing your expert-level product knowledge, workflows, and integrated solutions to new and existing users in the Environmental and Civil sector.

• Work with the sales team (Account Managers and Inside Sales) to further opportunities by providing product demonstrations, understanding the needs and current workflows of the customer, setting trial expectations, and developing specific implementation plans to maximize the rate of success.

• Be the regional technical advocate for Seequent’s Environmental and Civil portfolio, including internal training to our staff members.

• Use the information platforms that Seequent provides to understand the client’s portfolio, the diversity of users and their managers in their organizations.

• Provide remote technical support and be able to work through examples with users.

• Deliver a range of user support interactions, including face to face, web, and/or emails, and managing these to a successful resolution.

• Proactively contact our users by web, face to face to complete a user health check and embed software upgrades.

Keep our clients' accounts in CRM updated (health check, software upgrades, users’ updates, training, etc., so that anyone who consults the client's information has the latest version of the facts

• Deliver training sessions on Leapfrog Works, and Central. The number of sessions is 1-2 per month, and most sessions are 3-4 days in length

• Actively monitor customer satisfaction levels and consistently work to improve outcomes and customer perceptions.

• While not being directly involved in software development, you will be the voice of the customer in North America.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

• University Degree in Engineering, Geoscience or Geology, BSc, or MSc.

• Work experience 3-4 or more years in Environmental Sciences or Civil Engineering

• Proficient, high-level experience using of Leapfrog Works and 3D Geological Modelling

• Eager to be a course creator, instructor, and problem solver.

• Preference for career experience in Environmental or Civil Engineering

• Excellent interpersonal skills that lead to building rich working relationships

• Tenacity, persistence, and enthusiastic problem-solving approach.

• Proven team player with a self-starter attitude and ability to work well independently, at times remotely, and self-manage workload effectively.

• Must have permission to work in the required country and travel globally.

• Must reside in Vancouver, Toronto, or Denver for the job.

• Fluent in English. French and Spanish an asset.
