Role: SQL Developer

Term: Long Term Contract

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid- Onsite- 3 Days per week)

Job Description:

SQL Developer role available in Montreal supporting an insurance client needing proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ETL and SQL and compatible coding languages (SQL, Python, VBA, etc).

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL databases and data warehouses

Optimize database performance through efficient query tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

Develop, implement, and optimize ETL processes, executing related tasks such as extraction, transformation, loading, integration, and error handling.

Gather, interpret and document complex business line information to support decision-making as well as target state employee training, adapting as needed.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure developed solutions are duly tested and fulfill specified business requirements.

Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of data warehouse and data integration solutions.

Desired

Good understanding of Microsoft SSIS, SSRS development and deployment

Capability to deploy the SSIS pkgs using catalog scripts and monitor jobs scheduled job

Knowing how to send alert and failure notifications for scheduled SSIS and Jobs

Experience working with and configuring data-driven applications.

Understanding of translation between multiple file formats

Ability to use scripting languages, ETL tools and methodologies to map data between various formats.

Experience with Reporting tools (ex. - Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services)

Strong technical skills with PL SQL, Stored procedures, Functions

T-SQL / Stored Procedure development on MS SQL database

Should be able to handle performance optimization tasks (Indexing, Partitioning, Parallelization)
