Senior Consultant, Communications at Santis Health

Position Overview

Santis Health, a leading public affairs, communications and strategy consultancy focusing exclusively on the health care and life sciences sector, has an opportunity for a Senior Consultant with our growing Communications Practice. A hybrid position based in our Toronto office, this ambitious, self-motivated individual will work closely with the Santis team to provide comprehensive services that support the marketing and communications needs of both the firm and our clients.

Applicants should be passionate about health and have comprehensive communications experience spanning strategy, planning, crisis, tactical execution and proactive and responsive media relations and social media skills with demonstrated success. Previous experience working in health care, in government or as a consultant would be an advantage.

Responsibilities include:

Lead accounts and manage projects, ensuring ongoing client support, communication, development of project management plans, and fulfilment of overlapping deliverables

Provide sound counsel and develop materials to support and drive communications strategies

Shape the strategy and deliverables to support objectives outlined for clients

Draft content ranging from presentations, plans, stakeholder communications, blog posts, op-eds, news releases, media pitches, social media content, briefing notes and more

Interact with clients and prospective clients, media, partner agencies, stakeholders and colleagues to build and maintain excellent relationships

Create plans and fulfil the deliverables for paid, earned, shared and own media and social media plans and their accompanying reports

Lead meetings, presentations, and sessions as required

Identify and respond to or leveraging emerging and evolving issues and opportunities for clients and Santis

Support new business opportunities

Demonstrate professionalism and a dedication to meeting or exceeding Santis Health client service standards.

Demonstrate an understanding of the health care system in Canada

Encourage junior talent in their roles, supporting learning and building a positive team culture.

Qualifications

A degree or diploma in communications, PR or related field.

Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience.

Previous consulting experience is considered an asset.

Experience developing and executing on media relations and social media campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders, internal and external clients.

Strong skills in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the Google Suite

Required Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills (including building out Presentation decks).

Exceptional organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple clients and projects and competing deadlines.

Skilled in priority-setting, efficient time-management and the ability to work independently.

Ability to drive client files forward independently while identifying and providing guidance on needed support

Ability to manage and lead junior colleagues.

Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

High level of professionalism.
