Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status
Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management options
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure top tier Psychiatric care for patients
Conduct 15-minute medication appointments (on average) and up to 90-minute new patient assessments
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe or alter psychiatric medications as necessary
Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
Promote mental health awareness and wellness among patients
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility
Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes
Qualifications:
Valid license as a Registered Nurse; completion of Advanced Practice Nurse Program for Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania
Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in outpatient facilities
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist
Direct experience with outpatient communities is preferred as a Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerCompany Description
