Methodist Home for Children offers residential treatment for dually-diagnosed children and teens. Typically, these young people need out-of-home care but don't meet criteria for inpatient psychiatric services. Our goals are to help youth learn to live as productively and independently as possible, and to help youth manage behavioral issues so they can return to a public school setting.

Residential Technicians

Pay is $15 an hour plus, depending on education and experience.

The Residential Technician positions functions as a part of the clinical team in our culturally sensitive Residential Treatment Level III setting. Staff provide the necessary supports to clients who are dually-diagnosed with a mental illness or severe emotional disturbance and co-occurring developmental disability. Service requires awake staff around the clock, and supervision of the clients is continuous. Shift work is involved with the positions requiring an ability to work irregular and weekend schedules.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

Weekdays 2:30pm - midnight and every other weekend 10am-10pm

Weeknights midnight - 10am and every other weekend 10pm-10am

WHAT ARE SOME DUTIES OF A RESIDENTIAL TECHNICIAN ?

Residential Technicians provide hands-on support services to individuals in a residential setting. They perform client behavioral intervention, skills training, psycho-educational groups/supports and/or community inclusion services as assigned.

Residential Technicians make auditory and visual observations of clients' behaviors and interpersonal interactions to report in the clients' daily service notes and in the shift report. They complete documentation, incident reports and other data.

Residential Technicians will provide intervention and support services in a manner that respects the individual, the client's rights, their safety, privacy, property, and therapeutic purposes.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

Residential Technicians must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED. Employees may be required to bend, stoop, assume awkward positions as well as lift and pull clients during physical interventions. Employees are required to be able to drive a company -owned vehicle. Drivers must maintain a current and valid North Carolina driver's license without any restrictions.

BENEFITS are available after 90 days of employment:

Paid Holidays: MHC gives full-time employees paid holidays each year.

Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year

Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.
