Reports To: Customer Service Manager Department: Administration

Pay Band: 2– Non-Exempt Effective Date: Jan. 2024

Job description:

The Receptionist is an integral component of the operations division of the Miami Parking Authority. The Receptionist will manage various administrative and fiduciary functions for the Miami Parking Authority. Individuals in this position handle incoming calls, customer service, mail sorting and distribution. The Customer Service personnel will works in the customer service office and assist reception area as needed.

Duties:

Sort and distribute mail to the MPA departments.

Approve or deny service request for different products or subscriptions.

Create and log residential and monthly permit zones.

Create orders and invoices for the sales products.

Complete and log customer refund requests weekly

Contact and resolve customer chargebacks complaints.

Participate in community and special events as scheduled.

Disseminate information to the Miami Parking Authority Customer via email communication.

Other duties as Assigned.

Requirements:

One year or more experience as a receptionist/front desk, with multi-extension telephone experience.

HS Diploma

Administrative office experience

Call center experience preferred but not required.

Intermediate MS Word and Excel experience

Ability to multitask.

Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (verbally)

Must be flexible (Mornings, evenings)

Internal candidates must have received a satisfactory rating of 80% or above on your last performance review and have remained in good standing (no disciplinary action within the last 6 months.)

Physical Requirements:

The work environment is a combination of field and office work.

Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public both verbally and in writing.

Physical capability to effectively use and operate various office-related equipment such as, but not limited to computers, computer software, calculator, cameras, copiers, and fax machines.

Job Knowledge:

Requires the application of simple mathematics using decimals, fractions and simple formulas and/or the use of simple measuring instruments. Checking, preparation, interpretation of reports, variety of operation and capabilities relating to office procedures and equipment such as typewriters, computers, calculators, meter machines.

Judgment and Decision:

Repetitive or routine duties involving clearly defined standard practices. Some decisions and judgment within established precedent. Referral to supervisor of questionable decisions.

Manual Skill & Dexterity:

Skills and dexterity required are comparatively easy to acquire. Works within fairly broad guidelines.

Physical Effort:

Light physical effort required consisting of, such as occasionally lifting 10-20 lb. materials.

Working Conditions:

Very good working conditions. Absence of unpleasant elements for all practical purposes. Usual office conditions.
