Description:

Help price and support for Lender Placed Insurance products such as Mortgage Hazard, Auto Collateral Protection, Blanket (VSI), and Flood Insurance as part of the Warranty and Lenders Solutions team. In addition, they will have exposure to and provide support for various Debt Protection and Service Contract products. This person will develop and maintain relationships with third party administrators and agents.

The Underwriting Assistant & Data Specialist will help underwriters and actuaries analyze insurance applicants. They will review the applicants’ data (the “submission”); clean, organize and integrate data into pricing models; identify missing information or additional needs; prepare initial analyses; and create pricing documents for each group member. In addition, the candidate will work with the underwriter to complete post-binding documentation including the Deal Summary and Underwriting Narrative. This person will be able to understand and communicate necessary product and service information to our clients. This role will require successful execution of risk analysis, service timeliness, personal accountability and teamwork. This individual must demonstrate the ability to effectively evaluate risk for approval including alignment with strategies, underwriting guidance, and processes & procedures.

Responsibilities

Gather, clean and organize data from accounts submitting requests for insurance

Meticulously analyze and aggregate information from insureds and prospects. Identify anomalies or additional information needed; draft initial pricing models

Ensures underwriting and servicing of risks is both timely and accurate adhering to all Arch underwriting / compliance guidelines, service standards and regulatory requirements Correspond with agents/administrators

Assist the other underwriters in their day-to-day responsibilities as required by running portfolio reports, reviewing loss projections and other ad-hoc projects clearly identifying exceptions, issues or areas of focus

Manage account portfolio volume and workflow

Clear file documentation

Correspond with other departments, including but not limited to Underwriting Operations, Policy Issuance, Claims, Actuary, Compliance and Accounting

Required Skills/Experience

Excellent proficiency with MS Excel & ability to apply it
