Lead Data Engineer

Job Description:

Lead Data Engineer positions offered by Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Atlanta, GA). Functionally lead projects involving the design and development of solutions involving multiple services, including libraries and programs to accomplish complete ETL processing. Provide technical guidance in connection with the design and development of database architecture, and define standards for development that provide for scalability and maintainability. Create packages to support complex business requirements. Enhance existing standards to accommodate new use cases, troubleshoot complex issues, and work with complex batch solutions. Serve as an expert in ETL Processing Methodologies and Designing the End-to-End Flow. Understand and propose changes to complex schema design/ transformation rules to meet business requirements. Extend existing data model by adding attributes to existing tables or by adding simple tables. Serve as a technical coach and mentor to junior developers, and review their work to ensure it adheres to your architecture and design standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field and 6 years of experience in the position offered or 6 years of experience delivering software solutions. Also requires 6 years of experience: developing in Python; performing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL); working with database concepts for relational, big data, and cloud databases including Hadoop, HBASE, Redshift, SQL Server, and Oracle; and working with AWS Services Ec2, S3, SNS, Step Function, Lamba, DynamoDB, Redshift, and VPC. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned fields and 6 years of experience as stated, the employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 1 year of experience as stated. Position reports to office in Atlanta, GA. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.

Compensation includes a base salary of $134,129 to $170,241. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company’s needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
