Security Engineer

SECURITY ENGINEER

LOCATION: REMOTE (Company is HQ'd in downtown Chicago)

COMPENSATION: To $130,000 base salary + bonus structure + full benefits

What you'll be doing:

Manage threat and vulnerability using CrowdStrike, Qualys, and Splunk.

Implement and maintain security infrastructure, including intrusion protection, firewalls, endpoint solutions, and SIEM (Splunk).

Handle security events and incidents, document procedures, and automate tasks.

Develop and document security procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Identify security risks and create mitigation plans.

Promote security awareness and training.

Conduct technical risk assessments, manage security testing results, and coordinate response actions.

Collaborate with IT to develop security metrics, assist in audits, and enhance security continuously.

Support compliance activities, including external audits and regulatory projects.

About You (the required stuff)

5+ years in information security.

Splunk Expertise in Enterprise setup and maintenance on Linux.

CrowdStrike Falcon a Plus.

Internal security audits and PCI/SOX compliance experience.

Strong Microsoft security skills, especially in Hybrid Azure/On-prem environments.

Extensive vulnerability management experience.

Proficient in web application security

Familiar with OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25.

Firewalls and network segmentation.

Solid verbal and written communication skills.

Team-oriented and collaborative.

MUST live in the Chicagoland area but will be mostly remote. Meetings once in a while downtown.
