About the team

The IMCS DBA team operates within Managed Cloud Services and overseas managed database services on a globalscale. As a shared model DBA team, we are providing support to 30+ MSP customers.

Responsibilities-

Install, Configure, Upgrade, and administer SQL Server database engine, SQL Server Service Broker, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server AnalysisServices, and/or SQL Server Reporting Services.

Database Deployment and Management, deploying and managing Azure SQL databases in a Platform as a Service(PaaS) environment.

Configure and Troubleshoot HADR (High Availability / Disaster Recovery), AlwaysOn and FailoverClusters.

Manage and Upgrade/Install database-related clustered and stand-alone serversincluding.

Configuring, and optimizing databasesfor performance, scalability, and cost efficiency

Provide day-to-day database management and support and monitor the system’s health and performance.

Solve non-routine problems and determine the best solutionthrough cost/benefit analysis.

Conducting regular testingof disaster recoveryplans to ensuredata integrity.

Managing databasescaling based on workload demands.

Implementing auto-scaling and resource optimization strategies

Collaborate closely with other Infrastructure operations support teams, engineering teams, and other teams to ensure delivery of database services within the SLAs and performance target set, and drive guidelines, methodologies, identify and resolve technical issues.

Communicate effectively to multiple levelsof an organization, including internalcustomers and vendors.

Refine and automateregular processes, track issues, and document changes.

Participate in evaluating, selecting, and implementing DBA tools to improve the effectiveness of tasks such as performance monitoring, recovery, and database change management processing.

Proficient in Azure SQL Databaseadministration and management.

Strong experience in Geo-Replication, Active Geo-Replication, FailoverGroups, and Zone-redundant Databases.

Automatic Tuning,Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) & Point-in-Time Restore

Guide and Mentorthe junior DBAs in the team.

Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer scienceor a related field.

7+ years of experience in an SQL Server DBA or similarrole.

Minimum 2+ years of focus experiencein designing, deploying,and maintaining the High Availability (HA) features of MSSQL Server in a clustered environment.

Strong commandof SQL and SQL server tools.

Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery,and performance monitoring standards.

Strong analytical, and problem-solving skillsand attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

Certifications such as MCSE: Data Management and Analytics or MCSA: SQL 2016 DatabaseAdministration.

DP900 and DP300

Experience in AzureData Bricks (ADB) & Azure Data Factory(ADF)

Experience with Linux and WindowsServer environments.

PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills.

Knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL/CosmosDB
