SENIOR PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to be a key contributor to our Electrode Process Development Team at the Hyderabad (India) facility. As a vital member of the Electrode Process Development Team, you will be responsible for scaling up the new electrode manufacturing process for batteries and supercapacitors identified by the Innovation team.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

Should adhere to and comprehend the technical requirements for the anode and cathode dry process development as set out by the innovation team.

To locate new global as well as local suppliers for the following processes: calendaring, slitting, dry mixing, and feeding.

Defining and optimizing the manufacturing process parameters for Dry Process electrodes to facilitate a subsequent scale-up.

To find the best way to characterize products manufactured with dry processes at each stage.

To make the process FMAE.

Once the necessary equipment is acquired, create a solid experiment design and oversee the production of the dry electrode.

To continuously work on process optimization to match mass production constraints (ergonomics, yield, overall equipment efficiency).

Bring meaningful conclusions from the experiments in the area of battery/supercapacitor electrode formation via the dry process.

Development of dry coating process DOEs and interpretation of material characterization.

Screen newly developed proprietary formulations from R&D with components that are readily available commercially and active ingredients exclusive to Godi Energy.

Establish and execute new equipment and procedures by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

QUALIFICATION

Master/Ph. D Degree, Material Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemical, or any other science/engineering-related area majors.

More than two years of working experience in industrial R&D of energy storage devices, preferably in dry electrode process.

Familiar with the basic principles and design of batteries and supercapacitors

Familiar with the connection between product, technology, and material.

Familiar with the production process of supercapacitors and battery.

Expertise in extrusion and calendaring.

Prior experience in dry mixing and dry coating processes on metal foils.

Skills in equipment design.

Process development methodology (PFMEA, functional analysis).

Have a proven track record of creating innovative products and technologies.

Possess substantial expertise in developing innovative processes and products as well as bringing them into large-scale manufacturing.

Able to establish the material and product parameters.

Have excellent communication skills and writing ability.

Management, budgeting, and spending control experience
