Job Summary: Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this position is responsible for leading the execution and coordination of engineering activities. The position is frequently involved in more complex and non-routine engineering challenges. Job Description:
Leads and supports projects within scope, schedule, and cost.
Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise.
Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.
Coordinates of design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers.
Reviews and authenticate designs.
Work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating.
Develops and update single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications.
Supports material procurement as a subject matter expert.
Conducts high-level QA/QC design review, close gaps and manage lessons learned.
Provides technical support to field and construction groups.
Utilizes, develops, and improves engineering processes and standards.
Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and senior management.
Assists the Supervisor in managing engineering contractors.
Participates, leads, and represents LUMA actively in industry technical activities.
Acts as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as required.
Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education and experience
BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college. Eight years of applicable engineering experience or a combination of education and applicable engineering experience. Master’s degree counts as one year.
Licenses
Professional Engineering License issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in related subject such as engineering, computer science, business, etc. or
Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management Certification.
Minimum of three related career experiences (i.e., changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department) OR Lead Member of a recognized industry committee.
