Our client, in the dairy production industry is seeking a talented and motivated Licensed Electrician with a background in dairy or brewery production reporting to the Plant Manager.

Job Description for Licensed Electrician

Qualifications :

· Ideal candidate must have a current Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician License.

· The successful candidate must have a minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry would be an asset.

· Experience in troubleshooting with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI and SCADA system.

· Must have a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code

· Experience with industrial electrical power systems, industrial control systems, PLC’s, motors, VFD’s, and industrial communication systems.

· Able to create simple drawings, ladder diagrams and single circuit diagrams.

Key Responsibilities :

· Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, VFDs, electrical instrumentation and sensors, lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.

· Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches or sensors, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, VFDs, etc.

· Installs, examines, replace or repair electric wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.

· Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions.

· Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and VFD’s on packaging and processing machinery.

· Test for malfunctions, verify repairs and document of all programming changes.

· Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.

· Be willing to upgrade skills to deal with new technology, including the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

· Work with operators and other trades as required to achieve satisfactory results.

· Support the development of autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs.

Additional Requirements:

· Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, EMaint database system an asset)

· Dairy processing experiences an asset.

· Work independently or in team with little to no supervision.

· Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Must also be familiar with WHMIS, GMP’s and good health and safety work practices.

· Must have a positive “Can Do Attitude” and customer focus.

· Able to work various shifts.
