Rijeka Gateway d.o.o. (RGW), a joint venture between A.P.Moller-Maersk Group through APM Terminals and ENNA Group through ENNA Logic, is reaching the final stage of the big project: building the high-tech Rijeka Gateway Terminal.

We've worked hard to make it happen, and soon we'll start running the new container terminal. Our main goal now is to make sure everything runs smoothly when we kick off operations. The purpose of this position is:

Responsible for directing team of technicians to safely and efficiently execute planned/scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring quality of work and record keeping and safety of workplace.

Act as a first point of contact for technicians on shift in case of technical or safety queries.

Ensure quality of maintenance work performed, and history recorded.

Develop skills and competencies of technicians under supervision.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensure that appropriate risk assessments, work permit and Lock-out / Tag-outs are in place and understood by the maintenance teams prior to commencement of work.

Ensure all asset maintenance activities are undertaken with the aim of reducing risks to as low as reasonably practicable.

Provide end to end monitoring and control of all maintenance shift related work orders, from issue to final close out.

Apply global standards and procedures for work execution and management.

Liaise with the warehouse team to ensure the availability and timely issue of spare parts, materials and special tools, to support scheduled maintenance work.

Resolve anomalies raised by technicians under supervision.

Monitor the effectiveness of equipment repair strategies and suitability of shift resources and provide feedback to the Maintenance Coordinator and Equipment Manager.

Ensure all assets are returned to operations, meeting full integrity and safety standards.

Maintain close collaboration with the warehouse and inventory team to ensure that appropriate materials and spare parts are available outside of standard working hours.

Apply good work practices and CMMS skills to optimise the efficient utilisation of all human and material resources for shift work within the terminal.

Ensure effective handover of work between shifts.

Provide day to day supervision and coordination of the shift working teams.

Ensure clear communication with the local (internal) clients, external customers and suppliers.

Ensure compliance with APM Group values and business principles.

Liaise with Equipment Manager and Maintenance Coordinator.

Direct reports: Shift Supervisors, Electronic & Control Technicians, Automation Technicians, Mechanic Technicians, Welder Technicians

The position reports to the Equipment Manager

Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in an operational M&R or facility management related environment.

Understanding of asset maintenance planning metrics, principles, its processes and requirements.

Understanding of software data systems used for maintenance and their interfaces is an advantage.

Skills:

Structured, driven, self-motivating and result orientated with a good eye for details.

Practical, planning and work scheduling capabilities.

Highly disciplined – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.

Team player, able to collaborate and align on regular basis.

High quality awareness and ability to work with constant care.

Excellent communication skills with proficient level of English and Croatian.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in any field of engineering, or related field (Equivalent education and work experience may be substituted).
