We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sr. Database Architect to provide specialized database administration support for our MS SQL Server environment, with a focus on SQL Server 2016-2019 clustering. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in all aspects of SQL Server administration, including design, generation, coding, performance optimization, and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable SQL Server database solutions leveraging Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, and other advanced high availability and disaster recovery features introduced in SQL Server 2016-2019

Optimize database performance by leveraging breakthrough capabilities in SQL Server such as In-Memory OLTP, Intelligent Query Processing, and Automatic Tuning

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

Provide timely and creative solutions to user problems to ensure high productivity

Collaborate closely with application development teams on database design, generation, and integration

Develop and implement database monitoring, maintenance, and backup/recovery strategies

Stay up-to-date with the latest features and best practices in SQL Server 2016-2019 and share knowledge with the team

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems OR Relevant experience in database architecture beyond the minimum required work experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a 1-1 ration i.e. one year of relevant work experience equals one year of required education. (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

10 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM’s (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred.

Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable.

Functional Accountabilities

Provide Development and/or Production support, including creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans.

Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs.

Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments.
