Job Summary:

The Process Technician provides process support to all manufacturing lines and ensures discipline to all Critical Process Parameters and out of control scrap and downtime conditions. This role also enters and analysis data for machine set points and performance outputs

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all safety requirements and report all unsafe acts and conditions immediate to ensure the safety of all employees.

Focuses floor time on high scrap situations and downtime on blanking lines, stamping lines and assembly cells.

Conduct plant walks every 2 hours to review the production boards and CPPS

Check scrap bins (Red) for excess scrap conditions

Note and escalate high scrap and downtime conditions to the Engineering and Operations

Note scrap reasons and work with Process Engineer on Action plan for resolution

Ensures all CPPS parameters are running within the tolerance/spec limits and ensure processing is maintained and disciplined to our IATF procedure. React on out of tolerance/spec conditions to ensure CPPS integrity is maintained by investigating as to why it was out of tolerance/spec and notify Process Engineer with details and root cause. Help support and drive Equipment to Robust processes.

Ensures log is filled in properly and correct signatures are obtained and ensure 100% compliance (Gemba audit is measurable).

Focuses on building and maintaining critical cleaning processes in conjunction with and guidance of the Process Engineer. This will be a team effort to effective and efficient cleaning processes.

Lead by example and maintain a strong professional demeanor at all times and always possess a “Can do attitude”.

Attains proper and correct signatures to ensure 100% compliance (Gemba audit is measurable).

Understands the use of the Critical Process Parameter sheet (CPPS); Pays attention to its detail and

Understands the use of the Engineering Log; Pays attention to its detail and ensures log is filled in

Assist engineer solutions to achieve established goals above for all Equipment.

Assist Maintenance team when required.

Assist Process Engineer on all required initiatives.

Collect, analyze and report out on bi-weekly metrics on CPPS and OEE by operations line.

Maintain loggings and reporting of KPI standards.

Must be involved with TPM and Kaizen events as needed and selected by manager.

Perform 5-why for all downtime events over 4 hours on Equipment and partner with Maintenance.

Perform 5-why for all out of Upper Control Limit scrap events and will also be required to report out all 5-why’s to Engineering on scheduled cadence. Escalate to Team Lead any Medium Level Control Limit Scrap.

Support continuous improvement projects via documentation and data tracking.

Supports and provides resources to achieve uptime and OEE goals.

Work extended hours when required, including weekends.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:

High school diploma or GED Equivalent

5 years manufacturing experience

Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, TEAMs, Excel & Word)

Experience using root-cause analysis techniques

Experience in collecting and organizing data to be presented and reviewed with others

Poses a solid understanding of manufacturing TPM related issues and activities

Poses a solid understanding of finished goods management and floor layouts to improve maximum floor efficiency

Preferred or Additional, Experience, Education, Skills and Abilities:

Preferred candidate will be engineering- minded and pursing a AS or BS level degree

Automotive manufacturing experience
