Senior Tax Accountant Summary: This position will be responsible for assisting the Head of Direct Taxes in a wide range of duties to effectively and efficiently perform tax accounting functions including audits, compliance, provision, and research that covers most segments of tax including federal, state & local, and international.

tax group is responsible for taxes in Canada, Mexico, and the US comprising over 60 locations and 30 states.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The duties and responsibilities can consist of, but are not limited to the following.

* Prepare data for income tax input\upload to databases for third-party return preparation.

* Gather and compile data for state apportionment and state modifications.

* Prepare income tax estimates and extensions/payments.

* Assist with United States year-end income tax provision.

* Prepare Mexico's year-end income tax provisions.

* Prepare data for the preparation of local Transfer pricing files.

* Assist with North American R&D claims.

* Assist with the preparation of IRS Form 5471 and Form 5472.

* Assist with audits for income and franchise tax.

* Recognizes, anticipates, and resolves tax issues; making recommendations.

* Perform other tasks as assigned or necessitated by the department.

* May have access to compensation information of other employees or applicants in this role and as such cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to other individuals.

* May be required to work overtime as needed based on department needs.

* May have access to proprietary and third-party information necessary to the business and as such will perform duties ethically and professionally.

* Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Master's degree preferred.

* Minimum 5+ years of US tax experience.

* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.

* Experience in every tax aspect listed is not required multi-state experience is strongly preferred.

* Familiarity with tax research software.

* Income tax provision experience is required.

* Ability to multitask and prioritize projects.

* Possess analytical skills sufficient to investigate complex issues, make decisions, and develop solutions.

* Detail-oriented with consistent accuracy.

* Solid organizational and time management skills.

* Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and meet deadlines.

* Capable of working independently and taking ownership of projects.

* Strong interpersonal skills for building positive working relationships both internally and externally with the organization.

* Knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems and computer applications including Microsoft Office - is required.

Database experience would be beneficial but is not required.

Advanced Excel skills required to include Data, Power Query, and understanding of financial modeling.

* Must be able to talk and listen via the telephone for prolonged periods.

* Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.

* Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.

* Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
