The Kitchen Crew is responsible for overseeing the grilling and cooking operations in the kitchen. This role involves preparing variety of menu items to perfection, ensuring food quality and adherence to recipe standards. The Kitchen Crew should possess excellent cooking skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items, including meats, vegetables, and other grilled or cooked dishes, according to standard recipes.

Operate and maintain grilling equipment and tools, ensuring they are clean, functional, and properly calibrated.

Monitor and regulate grill temperatures to achieve desired cooking results and prevent food spoilage or undercooking.

Season and marinate meats or vegetables to enhance flavor profiles and ensure consistent taste.

Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to maintain food safety standards.

Adhering to established recipes and cooking techniques to maintain consistency in flavor profiles and cooking times.

Monitoring and controlling cooking temperatures to ensure optimal doneness and texture of grilled items.

Conducting regular inspections of grilled items to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from any defects or inconsistencies.

Collaborate with the kitchen manager or supervisor to implement quality control measures and ensure consistent food quality.

Follow Restaurant's policies and procedures regarding portion control, presentation, and food waste reduction.

Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations and timely service during peak hours.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Kitchen Crew or in a similar grilling/cooking role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant.

In-depth knowledge of grilling techniques, temperature control, and cooking times for various meats, seafood, and vegetables.

Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices in a kitchen environment.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent food quality.

Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and operate grilling equipment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Culinary training or certification is a plus.

Knowledge of Tortilla Restaurant's menu and cooking standards is an advantage.
