Job Summary: The Healthcare Charitable Pharmacy Grant Writer with a Proven Track Record is a key member of our fundraising team, responsible for securing grants to support the mission and programs of our charitable pharmacy. This role requires a seasoned professional with demonstrated success in grant writing, a deep understanding of healthcare issues, and a passion for serving underserved populations. The Grant Writer will research funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and manage relationships with funders to secure grants that enable us to provide vital medication assistance to those in need.

Responsibilities:

Research and identify grant opportunities from federal / government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with the mission and programs of the charitable pharmacy.

Collaborate with program managers, pharmacists, and other staff to gather information and data needed for grant proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Write clear, persuasive, and well-researched grant proposals, grant reports, and other related materials that effectively communicate the impact and outcomes of our pharmacy's programs.

Develop detailed budgets and budget narratives for grant proposals, working closely with finance personnel to ensure accuracy and alignment with funder requirements.

Manage the grant application process from start to finish, including preparing application materials, submitting proposals by deadlines, and tracking the status of applications.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders, including government agencies, foundations, corporations, and individual donors, to secure repeat and new grant funding.

Stay informed about healthcare policy changes, funding trends, and best practices in grant writing and grant management to maximize funding opportunities for the charitable pharmacy.

Monitor grant performance and compliance with grant terms and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission of grant reports and accurate documentation of outcomes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, communications, nonprofit management, public health, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in grant writing for healthcare nonprofits or related organizations, with a proven track record of securing grants

Deep understanding of healthcare issues, particularly related to medication access and assistance programs, and ability to translate this knowledge into compelling grant proposals.

Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive narratives and effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Strong research skills and ability to synthesize information from various sources to support grant proposals.

Experience developing detailed budgets and budget narratives for grant applications.

Proven ability to manage multiple grant projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and produce high-quality work under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, funders, and other stakeholders.

Familiarity with fundraising principles and strategies, including donor cultivation and stewardship.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.

Commitment to the mission and values of the charitable pharmacy, with a passion for serving vulnerable populations and improving healthcare access and outcomes.

Additional Requirements:

Certification in grant writing or fundraising (e.g., Grant Professional Certified, Certified Fund Raising Executive) preferred but not required.

Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, or donor visits.

Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends to meet grant deadlines or attend events.

This role is Part-Time and requires you to work on site in Canton, Ohio
