Your Focus

As Senior Designer, Beverage, you will be responsible for bringing flavors and ingredients as a total solution to our customers in Beverage category. You will work closely with Commercial Team and their customers, as well as with Flavorists, other Food Technologists, Marketing and Product Experience to convert Innovation, Consumer Insights, Market Trends and Project Briefs into preferred solutions for the customers, their brands, and their consumers. You will also support the enabling process of local and regional business initiatives.

This is a Gurgaon, India based position and will report to Design Leader, Beverage.

How You Will Contribute

Drive successful project execution, the implementation and commercialization of IFF Innovation in Beverage Category for Indian Subcontinent.

Work closely with cross functional teams to execute the Commercial and Innovation Strategies.

Establish project planning and develop excellent beverage prototypes and flavor emulsion in response to internal and external customer development briefs.

Support and drive the use of new technologies within the business.

Constantly evolving knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes & flavor interactions in associated category applications.

Connect with other experts both local and regional to develop best practice for experimental design and formulation.

Interact with customers through demonstration of technical expertise and problem-solving ability.

Interface with cross functional team as necessary for completion of job tasks.

Project Management

Independently work on customers’ projects to select and recommend appropriate flavor and ingredient solution in compliance with customer’s profile, legal, cost and stability requirements within established timelines.

Work in a close collaboration with Sales/Marketing, Flavorists, Product Experience, GRA and other departments to support project execution.

Participate in new concept generation and other innovation activities.

Strategy and Business Knowledge

Develop network of IFF staff to expand application and business knowledge.

Establish relationship with customers and related categories.

Demonstrate understanding of the market evolution and consumer preference of the assigned category.

Technical and Product Management

Develop application formulations based on industrial standards, country specific requirements and customers’ requirement.

Understand and continuously expanding knowledge of flavor and ingredient function and performance in different applications, as well as knowledge on end products’ manufacturing process.

Use Creative/Innovative skills to develop relevant new concepts.

Provide total solutions utilizing creative problem-solving skills.

Share knowledge with the team.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

B.Tech or M.Tech Degree in Food Technology or any other relevant discipline.

Minimum 10-12 years of experience handling product development in beverage category (RTD, DPB, CSD, PSD, cordial syrup, etc) or any similar role within Food Manufacturing, Food Ingredients or Flavor industry.

Strong Knowledge of Proteins, Pectins, Gums, and other Hydrocolloids.

Knowledge of beverage raw materials, processing and regulations governing the use of these ingredients within the food and beverage industries.

Strong knowledge of beverage applications, formulation, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting.

Strong project management and experimental design skills.

Innovative thinker and problem solver with a creative flair and a passion for beverages.

Self-starter (independent) with ability to work in a cross functional team environment.

Communicating and presenting locally and regionally.

Good communication skills both written and verbal. English language is essential.

Good operation skill of Microsoft Office System and company IS system.

Experience in formulating industrial scale beverages (RTD, DPB, CSD, PSD, cordial syrup, emulsion, etc).

Knowledge of food safety, raw materials, food regulations, GMP and production processes.
