Description:

Mile Two is seeking a senior software engineer who will be a team lead and a self-starter. A software engineer at Mile Two takes responsibility for major features of an application, breaks them down into tasks that will be delegated to the team, and then implements them using best practices.

You will be engaged in all phases of the software development lifecycle: customer and end-user engagement, creating application system models, participating in and leading design meetings both internally and with customers.

A senior software engineer has seven (7) or more years of software-related experience.

While fully remote is acceptable for this position, candidates should be informed that working east cost business hours will be required for this role.Requirements:

REQUIRED:

Experience leading a software development team

Write well-designed and efficient code by using modern software development practices

Create rapid prototypes and longer-duration web frontends

Integrate data from various back-end services and databases

Work with the client lead to refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs

Work with scientists and evaluators to ensure the prototypes are testing and measuring the right output

Develop, test, and implement new software programs

Support and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse web technologies and techniques

Provides technical mentorship and guidance to peers

Identify areas of improvement for successful completion of a project

Prepare level of effort estimates for project tasks

Good judgment regarding when to power through difficult problems to get project completed

Experience with SQL and Database Patterns

Experience developing in an offline environment

Experience working with DoD or other government agency customers

DESIRED:

Experience with React, Angular, Vue, or other similar framework

API development experience with Golang, Rust, Node.js, and/or Python

Building and deploying containerized applications

Experience with Government contracts and customers

Experience with transitioning R&D products into production environments

Experience in SQL databases and ORMs such as GORM, GraphQL / Apollo / TypeORM / Prisma

Experience with Helm and Kubernetes

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and designing scalable architectures
