Our Pediatric Clinic is seeking a Medical Receptionist who is committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive, productive environment. We're looking for an experienced and well-organized individual who is comfortable working with patients to coordinate appointments and keep the office running smoothly.

This is not a summer only position. We are looking for someone who wants a long term position.

Responsibilities:

1. Patient Check-in and Check-out:

Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records as necessary.

Facilitate smooth check-out processes, including scheduling follow-up appointments and providing any necessary instructions.

Handle difficult or sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy, ensuring patient confidentiality is maintained.2. Appointment Coordination:

Efficiently manage and coordinate patient appointments to optimize the schedule.

Confirm upcoming appointments and reschedule as needed.

Communicate any delays or changes in scheduling to patients in a timely manner.3. Electronic Health Records (EHR) Management:

Utilize electronic health record systems to input and update patient information accurately.

Retrieve and organize patient records for appointments, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.4. Communication Liaison:

Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Relay important messages, test results, and instructions promptly and accurately.5. Patient Education and Support:

Offer support and resources to address patient concerns or questions.6. Quality Assurance:

Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on office procedures, medical terminology, and industry regulations.

Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the medical office.7. Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other members of the medical and administrative team to enhance overall efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Assist colleagues during peak times or in emergency situations to maintain a cohesive work environment.Qualities we are looking for in our new receptionist:

Child-Friendly Demeanor: The ability to interact warmly and effectively with children, creating a friendly and reassuring atmosphere.

Patience and Empathy: Patience in dealing with parents and guardians, understanding that they may be stressed or anxious about their child's health. Empathetic communication skills to address the concerns of both parents and children.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling paperwork, appointment scheduling, and verifying insurance information for pediatric patients.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the unique challenges of working in a pediatric environment, where scheduling changes and unexpected situations may arise.

Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication skills to relay information to parents, guardians, and medical staff effectively. Ability to communicate with children in a way that is age-appropriate and reassuring.

Team Collaboration: Collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the clinic. Willingness to assist colleagues in ensuring a smooth workflow and patient experience.

Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm, with a 1 hour lunch break.
