Main Purpose of The Role:
To manage shipments for a portfolio of Customers, from pick-up to delivery. Also process brokerage-only shipments.
Minimum Requirements: (non-negotiable when screening)
Min 10 years’ experience in Freight forwarding.
Min 10 years’ experience in Air Freight Imports
Qualifications: (please specify if the qualification is essential or advantageous)
Matric (essential)
Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain an added advantage
Computer packages (please specify whether essential or advantageous)
Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Cargowise understanding and previous experience would be beneficial
Incoterms 2022 and customs regulations beneficial
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives new orders from the Customers and arrange collection with Origin offices.
Obtain rate approval from Customers before
Daily update to the Customers on the status of their shipments
Take ownership of live shipments in the system.
Update the mandatory fields on the system (drop mode, estimated delivery etc.)
Check accuracy of the transport documents (gross weights, number of pieces etc.)
Request clearing instructions from clients.
Submit files to Brokerage for clearance.
Perform rates-checking
Monitor and resolve any queries raised by the Brokerage team
Batch and submit the documents for OGA-detained shipments.
Arrange delivery with the Transport team
Follow up on Invoicing
Follow up on Profit share
Ensure that all milestones are completed timeously.
Complete files
Register off-system files in the system
Request pre-alerts from Agents
Accrue the charges in the system and arrange COD payments
Arrange drawing for Agent and/or Airline drawing
Attend operational meetings and support KAMs in the preparation of MBRs and/or QBRs.
