Position Details

The Supervisor - Support, Commercial Lines is responsible for evaluating processes in accordance with company guidelines and objectives.

- Ensure team progress in line with established objectives, deadlines, results and professional standards;

- Assume responsibility for annual performance appraisal, recruitment and daily attendance management, as well as coaching, mentoring, training and development of underwriting support staff;

- Lead by example: Foster open and clear communication in others by leading by example;

- Organize staff meetings to review department and company objectives and to establish immediate action plans;

- Responsible for the achievement of operational objectives while respecting customer service standards and in accordance with company and industry standards and guidelines;

- Recommend and implement operational process improvements to manage underwriting workload;

- Manage daily workflow distribution and produce status reports;

- Build strong relationships with brokers;

Your profile

- University degree or equivalent experience.

- CIP or FCIP designation an asset

- Good technical underwriting experience in commercial lines

- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point).

- 3 to 5 years' experience in commercial lines underwriting

- 2 years' experience managing a team.

- Excellent leadership skills.

- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

- Good communicator at all levels. Excellent oral and written communication skills - French and English.

- Ability to lead change initiatives and work in a fast-paced environment.

- Good commercial underwriting judgment, supported by analytical skills.
