Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to become a member of Technology Services Group. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in deploying cloud-native services and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex infrastructure solutions. This position is integral to our mission, requiring a candidate who is not only adept in cloud technologies but also passionate about creating robust, secure, and scalable applications. The position will work closely with Applications Owners, Network and Security team to deliver the best solution for large scale infrastructure design and application modernizations. Candidates should possess expert knowledge in public and hybrid cloud models.

While very much a hands-on role, this role also requires strong communication and presentation skills and a thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices to be able to articulate cloud solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

Creation of fault-tolerant, self-recovery systems.

Implementation of infrastructure migration methodologies for workload migration into Azure and AWS.

Design and development of automation for continuous delivery and integration.

Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure deployment.

Designing and implementing solutions that meet organizational needs.

Technical leadership and guidance to team members.

Comprehensive documentation for cloud and infrastructure architectures, configurations, and procedures.

Collaborating with business partners to lead/assist and design End to End solutions.

Establishing strong working relationships with business and technology leaders for investment planning and portfolio planning.

Defined reference and implementation architectures for solutions and accelerators.

Leading design thinking workshops and building and testing new technologies.

Working across IT to drive capability-led investment planning decisions.

Introducing best practices to industry technology trends.

Applying risk-based decision making to complex problems.

Preparing and delivering executive level briefings.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.

Excellent public speaking skills

Experience (Minimum Required):

Minimum 10 years of experience in cloud computing and infrastructure.

Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and trends.

Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and infrastructure design.

Commitment to staying current with latest technologies and best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience with Azure landing zones.

Strategic thinker with ability to work in a broad, top-down manner.

Results-oriented with proven ability to develop and implement plans.

Experience in managing cross-divisional initiatives and teams.

Self-directed, self-motivated leader with ability to fill gaps and drive expected results.

Ability to envision the future and rally organization/people towards a common goal.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

Operating Systems: Linux, Solaris, Unix, Windows

Strong technical knowledge of cloud technologies & IT concepts (VMWare, HyperV, Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, AWS, etc)

Previous experience designing and deploying solutions on Azure and/or AWS Client/Server and Multi-tier Architectures.

Expert Cloud and Infrastructure experience on Public Cloud with particularly strong Azure experience.

Experienced in cloud governance, cloud monitoring, Infrastructure as Code, RBAC, policies, virtual network, and subscription management. Identity Management– users/groups/service accounts.

Networking and virtual network concepts of public vs. private IPs

Understanding of integration of Security, Express routes, firewalls in cloud and on-prem

Infrastructure as Code scripting capability (Strong working knowledge); Terraform, ARM, Bicep

Integration support of logging and monitoring for cloud deployments

Master’s Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.

Experience in the Pharma/CRO/Life Sciences space.

TOGAF Certification
