Job Description: Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) or Spacesuit Engineer in the advanced concepts area.

Paragon is looking for an experienced ECLSS engineer to help develop new ECLSS hardware and systems for current and future, commercial and government, customers.

It's an exciting opportunity to influence the design right at the very inception of a new spacecraft or research idea and then follow it through design, test, build and flight.

The successful candidate will report to the ECLSS Engineering Department and be responsible for the design, development, and test of environmental control, life support, or thermal control components and systems for future space suits or habitats in a hands-on environment.

Additionally, this candidate must provide or facilitate (with other experts) accurate modeling of their subsystem and related environments, oversee the design and manufacture of hardware, conduct test planning to verify performance, and develop the systems through flight qualification.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Valve development experience.

CAD design experience.

Knowledge and experience with spacecraft, spacesuits, aircraft, military, or habitat environmental control and life support systems, subsystems, assemblies, and/or components.

Knowledge and experience with the engineering product lifecycle, ranging from requirements development through design, manufacture, test, and operations.

Ideally, but not required, knowledge and experience in Thermal Control, Crew Systems, Spacesuits, High Pressure Gas Systems, Atmosphere Revitalization, Ventilation, Pressure Control, or Regenerative Life Support.

Ideally, but not required, knowledge and experience of pure oxygen hardware design.

Knowledge and skills in applying engineering principles and procedures to develop practical and tailored engineering solutions.

Component supplier and subcontractor management.

Skill in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive work relationships; have creativity, flexibility and resourcefulness; have discriminating judgment, tact and sense of humor Ideally, but not required, skills in project budgeting and forecasting.

Citizenship status is required for this position.

Required Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 4+ years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience Master's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent field and 2+ years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
