The OMERS Data and Technology (D&T) team is looking for a motivated and experienced Enterprise Architect, focusing on the Investment Technology domain, to help our D&T team and our internal customers modernize various core investment systems and data-related ecosystem. This individual must be extremely motivated, hands-on, and want to constantly learn and apply new technologies. In this role, the qualified candidate is expected to possess deep technology system solutioning skills, with experience in best practices to developing data solutions for large applications in the context of modernizing legacy ecosystems, ideally in the context of the investment asset management industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for a few key deliverables:

First, we are looking for someone who has strong Investment technology domain expertise and experience. However, this will not be your only focus. You will also facilitate discussions, taking input from various resources (including industry expertise / trends) to deliver architectural current / target states, and roadmaps. Next, you will be creating and maintaining technical designs and architectural artifacts for the organization’s technology solutions that adhere to corporate and industry technical and security best practices. Lastly, as part of those roadmaps and designs, you will create data flows, application information models, deployment models, etc.

As a member of this team, you will:

Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the domain of Investment Asset Management Technology Architecture.

Be responsible for developing and publishing application & architecture diagrams/artifacts and present them to other teams/SMEs like Business stakeholders, Security, Product, Development, Application Teams, Control Partners, Data Governance, other Enterprise Architects, etc.

Help modernize various applications, transitioning to SaaS and Cloud Native Designs, often by documenting current state, and then solutioning transitional/interim/target state applications or application ecosystems.

Analyze and design end-to-end architecture solutions, then provide technical direction for application roadmap(s), while developing and documenting conceptual and logical designs.

Assist in designing solutions that are right sized for OMERS, which may need to be highly available, with redundant backup, and disaster recovery solutions, based on business needs.

Collaborate with Architects and Engineers across the organization to come up with solutions, flows, documents as well as working on technical evaluations with vendors.

Work on non-functional requirements and technology controls as it applies to solution design and governance.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of seniority and technical acumen.

The ability to communicate complex technical concepts/designs to seasoned technical experts as well as to others using plain language.

Experience documenting and socializing current and future state roadmaps.

Experience solution with data products (analytics, reporting, warehousing, ETL/batch/API, etc.) in the investment technology domain.

Experience with investment asset management platforms such as: CRD, Eagle PACE, SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg AIM/PORT, BlackRock Aladdin, FactSet.

To help with success in this role, nice to haves are:

College/University degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.

Significant Asset Management Technology expertise.

7-10 years of overall experience in Information Technology.

At least 3 years of architecture responsibilities.

Designing component diagrams, architectural building blocks, patterns, flows (including application flows, data flows, authentication /authorization flows), etc.

Experience in migration of complex legacy investment application ecosystems with mixed components from Cloud, SaaS and datacentre infrastructure.

Relevant certifications include but are not limited to:

Cloud certifications (equivalents between Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.), architect, engineer, data architecture, etc.

Security certifications such as CISSP, CISP or similar.

Architecture certifications like ITIL, TOGAF or Zachman.
