Servicing the Leamington, Kingsville, Lakeshore, Essex, Harrow, Belle River, Amherstburg, and Wheatley communities.

Erie Shores HealthCare is currently home to 72 inpatient beds and a range of patient programs and services including a 24/7 Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care and Oncology Clinic, Outpatient Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services, Laboratory Services, General Surgery, Cardiopulmonary Services, Pharmacy and Rehabilitation Services.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Labour Relations, Compliance and Risk, Chief Privacy Officer will have leadership oversight of Corporate Training, Occupational Health, DEII, Legal Affairs, Risk Management, Patient Relations, and Privacy.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Labour Relations, Compliance and Risk, Chief Privacy Officer is an engaged, compassionate, results-oriented leader with a track record of building successful teams to work closely with a passionate hospital team to deliver high-quality care and outstanding patient experiences.

As the Chief Privacy Officer, oversee the organization’s policies, procedures, and data governance and designing controls for managing privacy compliance.

Monitoring regulatory changes and trends to ensure the organization remains up-to-date and compliant.

Ensuring that policies and procedures are effectively communicated and consistently applied to mitigate legal and reputational risks.

Fostering a nurturing and inclusive culture where individuals feel valued and motivated to excel.

Monitoring the effectiveness and quality of work life through periodic engagement activities with employees.

Establishing respectful relationships with bargaining agents and groups, leading in employee and labor relations, managing the grievance, mediation, and arbitration processes.

Developing policies and procedures, and instilling best practices, to uphold employee well-being and ensure a workplace free of all forms of violence.

Supervising all Occupational Health and Safety activities.

Assessing trends and integrating best practices concerning wages, benefits, scheduling, time and attendance, recruitment, and retention.

Guaranteeing a reliable recruitment process, orientation program, education and training initiatives, and retention strategy, encompassing managing compensation and benefits.

Ensuring adherence to the Code of Behaviors and respective professional standards, as well as relevant legislation, regulations, by-laws, policies, and procedures.

Designing and implementing human resources strategies and programs involving labour relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and resource planning.

Provide human resources analysis, advice, and implementation support to the leadership team.

Formulating, suggesting, implementing, and interpreting human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring accuracy, completeness, fairness, and legal compliance.

Developing and applying suitable Human Resources metrics and Key Performance Indicators.

Creating a strategy to promote diversity and inclusivity in a secure and respectful work environment.

The Ideal Candidate: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Legal Studies, or related field.

Successful and effective implementation and management of human resources programs and services, ideally in a health care setting.

Strong knowledge and experience in the application of practices and laws governing human resources.

Knowledge of risk management and controls or willingness to take additional training and certifications.

A minimum of seven (7) years of labour relations experience, ideally with multiple unions and collective agreements.

10 years of progressive leadership experience.

Demonstrated capability to effectively lead, collaborate, and cultivate cohesive teams.

Successful track record in strategic planning, organizational leadership, labor relations, financial management, and impactful communication.

Visible and empathetic leadership style, adept at listening, consulting, collaborating, and coaching to meet desired outcomes.

Proven ability to translate innovative ideas into operational achievements.

Leadership approach focused on fostering excellence, driving innovation, and encouraging interdisciplinary teamwork.

Dedicated to continuous professional growth and development.

Complimentary Experience: CHRP or CHRL considered an asset.
