Within Capital One, the Regulatory Relations function is responsible for managing all interactions with the Bank’s Federal Prudential Regulators. We provide key advisory consulting to senior management with respect to onsite supervision, while also supporting regulatory and supervisory policy.

We are seeking a Senior Manager to play a significant role in ensuring that Capital One proactively responds to the changing regulatory landscape and delivers on commitments to our regulators in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Provide thought leadership and strategic advisory services to senior management and other stakeholders in regard to changes in the regulatory environment.

Foster productive relationships between Capital One and Federal Regulatory Supervisory staff.

Lead examination preparation activities (e.g. logistics management, fulfillment of responses to the examination request letter).

Oversee execution of the on-site examination activities (meetings, document requests, matrix management, daily calls, issue resolution).

Identify potential risk areas through review of policies, procedures, and related documents and influence potential corrective actions.

Monitor corrective actions and ensure that they are on-track for appropriate and timely execution.

Participate in and/or support policy-making advocacy activities with respect to banking and regulatory-related matters.

Travel:

Travel of up to 10% may be required

Basic Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in risk management, audit, consulting, regulatory agencies, or any combination of the four

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 6 years of experience in risk management, audit, consulting or a combination

At least 6 years of experience in compliance, legal, or a combination of the two

At least 6 years of experience supporting integrated projects or programs where senior leaders and external stakeholders are your customers

At least 4 years of experience in vertically integrated industries

At least 4 years of experience working in banking and financial services

At least 4 years of experience working with banking regulators and regulatory policy
