Responsibilities
o Lead and manage a team of technical specialists in the execution of VMware deploy/upgrade/patching projects.
o Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing project expectations, timelines, and technical deliverables.
o Prepare VCF upgrade and migration strategies and designs for migration with help of senior SR engineers.
o Lead and execute VCF upgradations, which includes planning, pre tasks, communication, upgrade, post upgrade validation, functional and performance testing and executing cutover.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and timely project updates.
o Prepare and share clear status reports to client and other relevant stakeholders internally and externally in a timely manner
o Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
o Conduct internal stakeholder’s alignment meeting including PMs, Accelerators, TAMs, SAMs, SMEs and SREs (Internal) before every implement/upgrade/patching engagement.
o Ensure proper closure procedure is followed for every engagement with timely update to client, external and internal stakeholders and relevant documentation and quality controls are met.
o Conduct client meetings, presentations, and demos to discuss technical scope, timelines, and potential roadblocks.
o Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting team building and knowledge sharing.
o Develop and manage shift rosters to ensure optimal team coverage for client support.
o Manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
o Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and best practices for VMware deployments.
o Incorporate risk mitigation strategies and backout failover planning.
o Usage and understanding of various VMware tools/features, identify the gaps and implement the changes as needed.
o Ensure the Client application services is kept operational with high availability and minimal downtime.
o Design and implement backup strategies before performing of VCF implement, upgrade, patching on all relevant environment
o Work with respective client Application owners/groups to ensure proper security standards are being followed during the upgrade/migrate engagements.
o Develop and maintain documentation on technical processes, known error database
o Track training progress and report training needs for self and that of the team members on a regular basis
Requirements
Skills Requirement
o Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in managing and delivering IT infrastructure projects
o 5 years of relevant project management experience in infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud domain
o Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to work in international clients and local stakeholders at all levels and build strong client relationship
o Bachelor or masters level degree in engineering, IT, Computer science or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
o Working knowledge of data center concepts including servers, storage, and networking.
o Excellent Analytical and Debugging skills for virtualization and operating systems layers
o Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and issue-management skills in a multi-platform environment
o Demonstrated experience interpreting project requirements and working with clients to develop customized solutions.
o Proven project management skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
o Experience with shift rostering and resource allocation.
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
o Experience in using service desk tools like ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence etc

Skills desired
o Experience with designing and deploying VMware upgrade/migrate strategies in large hybrid cloud and virtualized environment.
o Good experience in troubleshooting VMware management and performance issues.
o Strong understanding and experience in Architecture and deployment of VMware technologies like vSAN, NSX-t, vRealize, Aria etc
o Strong in Linux and Windows basic administration and performance analysis tasks
o Valid VMware VCP certification a plus
o Valid Linux Certification is a plus
o Experience of setting up, upgrading or working on VMware Cloud Foundation environment is a plus
