Location: Kansas City, MO

Salary: $135,000- $165,000 plus amazing perks and bonus structures listed below

This is an exceptional opportunity for an operations Manager to join a machining/foundry operation that is part of a growing $4.5B diversified global manufacturing company with 18,000 employees. You will coordinate a team of 100-135 with 3 direct reports in the production of quality pressure-poured steel components to meet the company’s sales requirements.

DUTIES

Receives operating cost analysis from the Plant Controller

Lean Manager to further the concepts of Lean manufacturing

Working with the Purchasing Department in testing of new materials and vendors regarding the usage of their products

Responsible for compliance to Griffin quality standards and productivity/WIP objectives.

Responsible for ensuring safe workplace conditions within established safety policies and procedures.

Responsible for maintaining operations within cost and budget restrictions and ensuring continuous improvements.

Work with Quality Manager to ensure adherence to AAR and Griffin quality standards and/or specification

Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing facility and act on their behalf in the absence of the General Manager.

Plan and schedule manpower requirements to meet labor objectives.

Handle employee issues (either formal or informal) to promote good employee relations and equitable solutions for the Company. This includes personnel problems, and disciplinary actions.

Select, develop and motivate a competent supervisory staff to assure a safe, efficient, cost-effective production operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or better in Engineering or related field.

5+ years of Manufacturing Operations Leadership experience leading multiple departments/shifts

Must be able to demonstrate a past history of developing and implementing operations metrics to drive results

Experience with budget management/development

Previous experience in foundry, casting, steel industry operations

Can demonstrate a track record of cost-saving, inventory turns improvement, and implementation of planning approaches (JIT, Kanban, and Lean Manufacturing)

Ability to motivate co-workers, and colleagues, and develop a positive attitude on the shop floor.

Experience making high-impact decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Possesses strong change management skills.

Skilled using advanced spreadsheet tools, word-processing, and manufacturing-control software applications are required.

Motivated to keep schedules and/or responses to customers as needed.

Professional training/certifications are a plus. i.e.Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean

Advanced education is a plus
