Director of Development

Community Development Nonprofit

Bethesda, MD (Hybrid)

Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year + Performance bonus, with potential flexibility based on experience

Two terrific Director of Development positions at a community development nonprofit based in Maryland with a national reach. The organization has implemented a significant growth plan and the Directors will be integral in these efforts. The positions will manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for portfolios that consist primarily of multi-year corporate and foundation partnerships at the 6- and 7-figure levels. Ideal candidates should have experience working with an organization that operates on a national level and have a demonstrated track record of forging strong relationships with corporate partners. Candidates should have approximately 7+ years of related development experience. Bachelor's degree is required. Experience working with local municipalities on public-private partnerships is a plus. These positions operate on a hybrid schedule and are based in the Bethesda, MD area. The salary for these positions is $100,000 to $120,000 per year plus performance bonus, with potential flexibility based on experience.

Responsibilities:

Contribute significantly to the organization's growth plan through the creation and management of strong corporate and foundation partnerships

Manage the full lifecycle of a portfolio consisting primarily of national corporate and foundation donors and prospects

Develop proposals, manage relationships with partners, create and provide impact reports to partners

Participate in peer mentorship within the organization

Promote DEI practices within fundraising initiatives

Collaborate with the VP of Development and serve as a thought partner

Travel as needed, approximately 20% of the time

Qualifications:

Approximately 7+ years of relevant development experience with a national reach

Bachelor's degree required

Demonstrated track record of securing multi-year 6- and 7- figure gifts strongly preferred

Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills

Understanding of DEI principals

Ability to be adaptable and versatile

Travel throughout the U.S. as needed, approximately 20% of the time
