Jhpiego seeks a Project Coordinator for the HPV Vaccination Program Partners Initiative (or HAPPI) Project Phase II. HAPPI is part of Jhpiego Philippines’ cervical cancer elimination portfolio focused on primary prevention that provides technical assistance to the Philippine government. The HAPPI Project is a consortium of international NGOs, including Jhpiego, which aims to improve HPV vaccination coverage in selected countries in Africa, South and Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, in support of 90% target on HPV vaccination as part of the primary prevention pillar of the WHO’s Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer as a Public Health Problem by 2030.

The Project Coordinator will support the successful completion of projects by helping the HAPPI Project team organize their work, track the progress of project implementation, and focus on meeting the project’s objectives and deliverables.

Responsibilities

Provides technical and administrative support to the HAPPI Project team (includes but not limited to organizing schedules, arranging appointments, managing emails, maintaining files and records, and drafting documents);

Events Management (includes but not limited to logistical support, coordinating meetings/ conferences/ workshops, travel arrangements, preparing workshop materials and coordinating with speakers and participants of the activities);

Coordinates with Administrative, Procurement, and Finance Teams in matters relating to vendors to ensure the smooth operation of administrative and logistical functions;

Ensure that required technical and administrative reports are submitted in a timely manner;

Attends and prepares minutes of the meetings to ensure agreements are documented;

Assists in the documentation of highlights of workshops and similar activities that will be conducted;

Assists the Technical Advisor in the preparation of activity, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports

The Project Coordinator may be assigned other duties as needed by the project.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: public health, health sciences or life sciences, other allied health-, social science-, development studies-, or public administration-related course;

Equivalent professional experience in any of the following sectors: health, education, social welfare, economic and development planning, or other development sector, either at the national, subnational, local government level, is required;

Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience working with teams of development agencies, non-government, or non-profit organizations involved in project management;

Good understanding of project management planning and implementation, cycle, and activities;

Work experience in a health or social science research or data collection will be an advantage;

Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

Ability to work under pressure, priorities, schedule and balance workloads in the face of conflicting and uneven demands;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.;

Should be able to identify and solve problems that may arise during administrative and logistical processes;

Should have excellent attention to detail to ensure that all administrative and logistical tasks are complied accurately and efficiently;

Should be able to manage multiple tasks at once and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance;

Experience in report writing and good communication skills; and,

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino.
