As a Supervisor Carrier Management, you will contribute to developing the branch business plan, monitor team performance, and participate in talent management. You will oversee operational execution, ensure technology use, and support carrier procurement. Building internal relationships, resolving carrier issues, and staying updated on industry trends would also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you would foster a positive culture, adhere to ethical standards, and contribute to organizational projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
Talent Management:
Provide input to management for the use in developing the branch business plan
Measure, monitor, and communicate updates regarding performance against specific initiatives as outlined in the branch business plan
Daily coaching and performance management. Monitor employee activity, productivity and quality metrics; work one-on-one with employees providing coaching and guidance to drive the right behaviors and improve results. Support employees with problem resolution
Gather data and provide input to support the creation of financial performance goals, including a revenue and expense budget, for the supervised team
Encourage employee feedback through formal and informal channels (engagement survey, manager feedback)
Participate in the recruitment, selection, promotion, and alignment of qualified and diverse talent in designated locations
Assesses team talent as an input to the talent planning process
Work with employees to establish individual metrics and performance goals; regularly review goal progress with employees
Execution:
Track and monitor use of technology for key operational activities within the branch
Ensure daily/weekly stand-ups are executed with quality and relevant information is shared in a timely manner
Participate and support carrier procurement strategies for committed capacity process to provide quality coverage options
Utilize analytics to drive decision making, manage employee performance and improve quality. Promote usage among the team to ensure appropriate action is being taken in response to results
Develop and maintain a broad understanding of C.H. Robinson’s products, services, resources and leverage those appropriately
Stay apprised of industry trends and market drivers related to modes, products, services, pricing or verticals
Champion organizational transformation. Work closely with next level leader to drive effective change management and employee adoption of new tools, technology, processes or expectations
Contribute to a positive culture by setting and communicating self and team expectations for ethical behavior and adherence to internal trading rules
Participate in functional projects as needed
Relationship Management:
Accountable for problem resolution to assure execution, quality and service from the carrier
Build, manage, and leverage internal relationships with capacity peers that reinforces a culture of one team and enables the execution of high-quality coverage, ethical issue resolution, and process or service improvements
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 3 years of related logistics experience; capacity experience preferred
Site Specific: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 1 year of prior supervisory experience related industry
