One of our clients, an oncology office, is looking for a Nurse Navigator to join their team.

The position is full-time with a great compensation and benefits package.

Job Description:

The Nurse Navigator will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess, secure, and coordinate appropriate services through the oncologic continuum of care.

The ideal candidate will have OCN certification and previous oncology experience, with strong collaboration, organization, and time management skills.

Responsibilities & duties:

Ensure correct chemotherapy dosing on order template, calculate BSA, schedule mediport placement, and perform any other pre-chemotherapy procedures/testing using NCCN templates.

Coordinate care to ensure all physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are assessed and addressed with the appropriate supportive services.

Collaborate with the billing department to determine the location of chemotherapy and coordination of care for the Ambulatory Infusion Center patients.

Schedule and complete chemotherapy education prior to starting chemotherapy.

Initiate and follow-up on oral chemotherapy orders, working directly with a specialty pharmacy and assisting with financial assistance forms.

Educate and identify patients for genetic counseling or fertility preservation, and facilitate appropriate referrals.

Triage all clinical questions each day and delegate to the appropriate team/provider.

Recognize oncologic emergencies and escalate calls immediately.

Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Michigan.

OCN certification preferred.

Previous oncology experience.

Performance Skills:

Strong collaboration, organization, and time management skills.

Knowledge of oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration and related procedures.

Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare providers.

Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and complete patient records.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of patients and the healthcare team.
