SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:

Are you passionate about shaping the cloud infrastructure of an organization committed to advancing children's health on a daily basis? The Enterprise Cloud team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is actively seeking a skilled cloud engineer with expertise in Azure services and Terraform automation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project stakeholders to implement their specific requirements, while also contributing to the development of automation and integration frameworks across the entire CCHMC infrastructure.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within the hospital environment, engaging with various teams across Information Systems, Clinical, and Research divisions. Over the past year, our team has spearheaded several transformative initiatives, including automating genomics pipelines, establishing data commons for cardiology, creating virtual situation rooms for community health leaders, facilitating analysis workflows for precision drug dosing, and enabling AI/ML-driven clinical analysis, among other projects.

Representative Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure:

Assist with cloud environments, supporting change and promoting cloud technology adoption.

Perform application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.

Understand diverse areas of cloud architecture, including application development, identity management, and cloud security.

Support solutions architecture for private, public, and hybrid cloud models.

Analysis:

Analyze, design, and implement complex systems to enhance clinical care and patient management.

Conduct system testing, document outcomes, and build tools for automation.

Develop technical designs and complete user and technical documentation.

Utilize development lifecycle processes and procedures to implement and support system solutions.

Technical Support:

Provide third-level technical support for production and process issues.

Troubleshoot errors, identify required resources, and implement system solutions.

Proactively identify potential issues and advance projects to decrease downtime.

Participate in on-call support rotation and handle incident resolution during that time.

Professional Development:

Develop knowledge and skills through cross-training, literature review, and vendor education.

Maintain positive relationships internally and externally, motivate teamwork, and foster a positive team environment.

Prepare presentations, participate in seminars, and develop expertise in relevant systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred:

3+ years of experience managing production workloads in Azure.

Thorough understanding of Azure infrastructure services.

2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks.

Solid understanding of web services, networking, and identity/access management.

Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and Information Security concepts.
