We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Administrator 1 (Construction Compliance Project Coordinator)within the Division of Engineering, headquartered in Franklin County. The address is 2045 Morse Road Columbus, OH 43229. To learn more about the Division of Engineering please visit

What you will do:

Act as Construction Compliance specialist for the Division of Engineering with statewide capital construction projects.

Assist with guiding activities and providing direction to contractors as related to Prevailing Wage compliance requirements and conduct on-site interviews to ensure contractors are complying with Prevailing Wage and EEO laws and Affirmative Action requirements are being met.

Coordinate and oversee contractor compliance with Encouraging Diversity, Growth & Equity (EDGE) program on construction contracts including participation in pre-bid conferences to explain EDGE requirements.

Monitor and assist in aspects of the Fixed Assets and Construction-in-progress reporting.

Support the role of Project Coordinator providing continuity of services to support the capital program including contracts, invoices, and bidding processes as needed.

The natural resources areas of specialty for this position are architecture, landscape architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental science, agricultural science, and real estate.

Starting hourly pay of $29.49/hour with multiple pay increases over your first 8 years of service and an ending hourly pay of $42.01/hour.

48 months of training or 48 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description AND valid driver’s license.

-OR completion of an undergraduate major core program and 24 months of training or 24 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position AND valid driver’s license.

-OR completion of a graduate major core program and 12 months of experience in natural resources specialty indicated under job duties within approved position description AND valid driver’s license.

-OR equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above. NOTE: If assigned to work as Law Enforcement Officer, must also hold Ohio Peace Officers Training Council certificate. For positions assigned to perform law enforcement duties, applicants must successfully pass background check by appointing authority which includes polygraph, psychological & medical examination. Applicant must demonstrate physical fitness as outlined in department directive. Final applicant accepted for position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicant with positive test result will not be offered employment per Section 123:1-76-09 Ohio Administrative Code.
