Associate Strategist, Greater China

Ogilvy Social & Performance is a global, cross-discipline team of social experts from across all of Ogilvy’s businesses. We know there’s a new customer and stakeholder journey defined by the increasing impact our networks have on purchase decisions and our behaviors. We design integrated social solutions that combine deep disciplines like CRM, public relations and shopper marketing and are rooted in what drives behavior.
Associate Strategist responsibilities include:
Contribute to the cross-discipline social media team, spanning public relations, direct marketing, advertising and shopper marketing
Online research and social media monitoring using a variety of social media listening tools
Social media strategy development
Campaign execution in the areas of content, community management, influencer identification, influencer outreach and offline activation
Measure campaign effectiveness using a variety of social media analytics tools with an organized data-driven mindset
Day-to-day client relationship management
Project management
In order to be successful in this role you must:
Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent with a strong academic record
Have 2+ years of work experience with China social media platforms, primarily WeChat, Weibo, LittleRedBook. Others are beneficial. Social KOL marketing experience is also preferred
Have a strong understanding and interest in China digital marketing trends, industry practices and case studies, especially in luxury brands
Understand current and emerging media platforms in Mainland China and their usage from a consumer and business perspective
Be fluent in Mandarin and English language, reading and writing (test will be given)
Have excellent communication skills – verbal and written
Think critically and creatively, meaning the ability to think clearly and rationally, solve problems and develop new and useful possibilities
Plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
Work calmly and maintain good judgment in a fast-paced work environment
Collaborate with colleagues in different countries and appreciate cultural differences
Understand how to drive conversations and online word-of-mouth
Be passionate about social media and word-of-mouth marketing
Additional skills preferred, but not required:
Fluent in Cantonese & reading and writing traditional Chinese
Image and video production and editing
Management experience
Business development experience
