Your Support Your Way Disability Supports, a NDIS registered business, offers personalised support to individuals with disabilities. Our small team matches workers with participants for regular shifts of 2-5 hours, including relief shifts. While participants have control over their support, safety is paramount, with specific training for identified risks. Supporting individuals is a personal experience, and mutual comfort is crucial. If the fit isn't right, it's accepted without judgment. Open communication is encouraged. We provide an online training platform for NDIS-specific training, and certificates can be downloaded for resume enhancement.
**Position Overview:**
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Casual Disability Support Workers. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement individualized support plans and goals in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and community engagement.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, recreational activities, and social events.
- Transport clients to and from appointments or social activities using your own vehicle.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by NDIS standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
**Requirements:**
- Previous experience in disability support work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a related field is highly desirable.
- Understanding of the NDIS framework and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and respectful attitude towards individuals with disabilities.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain before commencing employment).
- Victorian driver's license.
