ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

This rewarding opportunity will see you join the Mater Hospital in North Sydney as a Registered nurse in our Medical-Surgical Oncology Inpatient department. You will be working with a dynamic and progressive team to deliver best practice care to our patients on McAuley ward. The ward is 27 bedded Medical/Surgical Oncology ward.

This role will be a part time position and will be pivotal in the delivery of cancer services with a diverse group of specialists which include Breast and GI surgeons and medical oncologists. The department also has close links with the Melanoma Institute Australia.

You will bring your passion to the role where you will work with a supportive multi-disciplinary team to support oncology patients. You will provide patient centered care within the philosophy, mission and values of St Vincent’s health Australia.

The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring that all patient care delivered adheres to policies and procedures of the Mater Hospital and St Vincent’s health Australia (SVHA).

ABOUT YOU:

Essential Requirements:

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)

Demonstrate recent clinical experience as a registered nurse in a Medical-Surgical Oncology ward or a desire to work in the area

Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a team

Computer literacy skills and a proven ability to use health information systems

Demonstrate evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relate to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care

Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
