The Transmission Line Engineer / PLS CADD Subject Matter Expert is responsible for managing and executing the design portion of transmission line engineering projects. The ideal candidate would be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and be a proactive and self-motivated employee who is able to think critically and learn concepts quickly. The Transmission Line Engineer / PLS-CADD Subject Matter Expert would:

Generate transmission line deliverables including route alignment drawings, sag charts, stringing charts, loading diagrams, foundation drawings

Interface with internal and external teams to resolve technical challenges

Provide mentorship and training to less experienced engineers in PLS-CADD and transmission line design

Accountabilities:

Drive the design aspects of a transmission line project and identify technical challenges.

Understand client specifications and design requirements and communicate those to others.

Keep up with software and technology trends relating to transmission line design and look for ways to continuously improve the workflow.

Qualifications:

B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer

Experience and Expertise:

Structural analysis and design of transmission lines and substation structures up to 345kV.

Experience includes new line, rehabilitation, and relocation for projects that traverse varying elevations and urban alleys.

Experience includes projects that vary in length from several poles to 20+ miles.

Experience includes a variety of structures including monopoles, lattice structures, and guyed towers.

Foundation design and steel detailing.

Experience with distribution design is a plus.

Proficiency with PLS-CADD and affiliated modules including TOWER, PLS-POLE, SAGSEC, CAISSON, and SAPS

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
