Our company is actively seeking an Associate, Investment Operations & Trading, who will be a key member of the Investment Operations & Trading team. One of the many services that Cresset provides involves managing portfolios for individuals/families and their related businesses or charitable entities. Experience with trading and using custodial platforms and order management/portfolio rebalancing systems is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Investment Operations Support
Develop an understanding of the firm’s investment platform and portfolio management
Utilize technological skills to effectively problem solve, drive operational efficiency, improve processes, ensure accuracy, and elevate client value
Assist with department controls and compliance reporting
Assist in troubleshooting issues related to trading, portfolio management, investments, etc.
Assist with data management of trading and rebalancing platform, and related technology
Proactive and timely communication
Trading
Accurate and timely execution of incoming trade requests submitted by advisors
Develop a comprehensive understanding of trading strategies for a multitude of asset types, including but not limited to equities, mutual funds, interval funds, fixed income, options, etc.
Post-trade reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Problem solve and quickly correct trade issues, including errors, allocation or settlement issues and initiating trade corrections as needed to minimize market risk
Assist and train advisors on tools related to trading and rebalancing platform
In addition to these core responsibilities, the Associate, Investment Operations & Trading may also be involved in supporting key initiatives, ad hoc projects, and other efforts at both the department and firm level. It is critical that the Associate, Investment Operations & Trading possess strong communication skills, be self-motivated, comfortable juggling multiple tasks and priorities, capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to foster and deepen relationships in order for Cresset to best serve its clients and continue to grow as successfully as it has since its inception.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required in Business, Finance, or related field
1-2 years of experience in wealth management preferred
Experience trading equities is required
Extremely high attention to detail & analytical thinker with the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Strong math skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel advanced functions including Pivot Tables, vLookups, etc.,
Experience with Power BI a plus
Experience with Addepar, RedBlack, and Salesforce a plus
Strong focus on continuous process improvement, including innovating, adopting, and leading best practices
Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
Cultivate a strong investment and wealth management knowledge base across public and private markets
Demonstrated passion for delivering exceptional client service
Must be a team player willing to contribute in a variety of ways to advisor teams and the broader Cresset team
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally with custodian partners and technology vendors
Ability to exercise judgment in managing confidential or sensitive information
Comply with all client, firm, and regulatory requirements
High degree of professionalism and flexibility and able to perform successfully in a service-oriented, fast-paced, high-growth and frequently changing environment and aligned with Cresset’s values and culture
