Technical Writing Coordinator - Contractor

Job Summary

The Technical Writing Coordinator will support the creation of equipment documentation for the Controls Engineering team. The technical documentation would be associated with lab, manufacturing, and field hardware and software testing, operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This position will contribute to the on-time delivery for project and requisition executions in a team focused environment. In this role you will manage the documentation requirements and plan the execution and release of all associated material. Additionally, receive and review field redlined material and update and release the material, as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

Proficient in clearly, concisely, and accurately understanding and documenting test steps for testing and using equipment for optimal performance by creating:

Test reports

Test procedures

Troubleshooting documents

Training material

Technical operations manuals

Checklists

Ability to design documentation that is easy to use and navigate

Create and revise templates

Create standards and process maps/ plans

Capable of running and redlining test procedures to capture discrepancies

Ability to work with cross-functional teams to identify hardware required to support necessary testing

Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a way that is easy for non-technical audiences to understand

Ability to quickly grasp the subject matter that the test procedures are being executed on

Ability to work within a PLM system to create, review and/or release documentation

Ability to coordinate the release of documentation with the correct resources queued for document review

Provide timely communications about significant issues or developments

Capable of performing executed procedures to validate accuracy

Qualifications/Requirements

Associates or Bachelor's Degree or 3yrs of applicable experience

Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to document technical procedures

Capable of learning new technical concepts quickly

Desired Characteristics

Product knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs, both Onshore and offshore

Basic knowledge of:

PLCs

Code – C, C++, UNIX/LINUX, Java Script, HTML5, Python

Database - MySQL

Cloud Services/ Other – AWS/Azure, GiT

Protocols - Modbus, Profibus, OPC/OPC-UA

Siemens S7-1500 and WinCC OA

Hardware components

Reading electrical schematics & wiring drawings

Reading P&IDs (Piping and Instrumental Diagram)

Ability to work in a team environment on short- and long-term projects

Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a focus on time delivery

Excellent time management skills

Quick learner of new concepts, ideas, and processes
