We are an Entertainment Business Management firm seeking a Royalty Analyst for our Royalties and Publishing Department. This position will be responsible for assisting the department in all areas of royalty administration, including but not limited to record label administration, band-member allocations, professional fees allocations and distributions, royalty income tracking, publishing administration, licensing, copyright registration and research, royalty statement ingestion and analysis.

The following is a list of major tasks that this position will encompass:

Prepare artist, producer, label, net profit and mechanical royalty statements.

Ingest raw data files into our royalty database management systems.

Prepare complex artist, band and label allocations from various sources.

Review and brief contracts and licenses and check income for adherence to contractual obligations.

Liaise with other departments of the firm to complete ad-hoc royalty related tasks or answer inquiries.

Assist with label income and expense allocation for ingestion into Agillink

Assist with desk audits and internal reviews of distribution statements.

Oversee ingestion of voluminous royalty statements from all sources, including monthly, quarterly and semi-annual accountings.

Field internal and external inquiries in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist the department with quarterly and semi-annual royalty reporting.

Assist the department with catalog valuations and due diligence.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and someone who is able to work independently, with the ability to follow detailed instructions. This position requires the following qualifications:

Familiarity with CURVE or similar Royalty software systems is preferred.

High level knowledge of Excel and other Office software.

Sound math skills and the ability to think in an analytical fashion.

Excellent quality control and ability to check one’s own work for mistakes with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a professional work attitude.

Familiarity with the income flow and mechanics of all major sources in the music industry.

Experience with DataFaction, Agillink and Imaging is preferred.

Ability to track and prepare monthly/quarterly/semi-annual repeating tasks.

Ability to work under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality with respect to agreements, work practices and all other client matters.

This position requires on-site training and development in our Woodland Hills office, as part of our orientation process and thereafter. A hybrid work schedule will be considered after successful completion of training. Employees will be required to come into the office on assigned days, usually two days per week.
